How does this medication work? What will it do for me?
This medication is used to treat acne. It works by drying the acne pimples and helping the skin to peel.

Do not give this medication to anyone else, even if they have the same symptoms as you do. It can be harmful for people to take this medication if their doctor has not prescribed it.
How should I use this medication?
Benzoyl peroxide topical medication should be applied one or more times daily to the affected area as directed by your doctor or pharmacist. Wash your face before applying the medication. People with very fair skin should begin with a single application at bedtime, allowing the medication to stay on overnight.
Many things can affect the dose of a medication that a person needs, such as body weight, other medical conditions, and other medications. If your doctor has recommended a dose different from the ones listed here, do not change the way that you are taking the medication without consulting your doctor.
It is very important that this medication be used exactly as prescribed by your doctor. If you miss an application, apply the medication as soon as possible. If it is almost time for your next application, skip that dose and carry on with your regular schedule. Do not apply more often than prescribed by your doctor.
This medication is for external use only. Avoid contact with eyes, nostrils, lips, and mouth.
Do not dispose of medications in wastewater (e.g. down the sink or in the toilet) or in household garbage. Ask your pharmacist how to dispose of medications that are no longer needed or have expired.

What form(s) does this medication come in?
Each gram of gel contains benzoyl peroxide 4% (Solugel 4), or 8% (Solugel 8) in a unique patented hydrophase gel base. Nonmedicinal ingredients: cetyl alcohol, dimethyl isosorbide, fragrance, promulgen G, purified water and simethicone.
Some medications may have other generic brands available. Always ask your doctor or pharmacist about the safety of switching between brands of the same medication.
Who should NOT take this medication?
This medication should not be used by anyone with an allergy or hypersensitivity to benzoyl peroxide or any ingredient of this medication.
