Welcome to our Prescription Drug Info, powered by MediResourceTM. This is your source for easy-to-use information on Canadian prescription drugs.
Find out about the following:
- how your medication works
- the right way to take it
- when you shouldn't take it
- possible side effects
- what drugs shouldn't be taken together
- and more
Just type the drug name (or part of the name if you are not sure how to spell it) in the box above and click GO. Or click on a letter to find all of the drug names beginning with that letter. You can also search by DIN, or Drug Identification Number. The DIN is a number assigned by Health Canada. All medications sold in Canada are required to have a DIN. You can find your DIN on the receipt from your pharmacy or on the prescription package.
Uncertain about brand names and common names?
All medications have both common (generic) and brand names. The brand name is the name under which a specific manufacturer markets a product (e.g., TylenolTM®). The common name is the standard name of the medication (e.g., acetaminophen). The label on your medication will state the brand name, common name, or both. It will also give important dosage information. You can search our Prescription Drug Info using either the common name or brand name of the product.
