• Visiting your doctor or other health care provider such as a nurse or pharmacist is a great way to learn more about preventing human papillomavirus (HPV) infection and the problems it can cause, like cervical cancer, genital warts, vulvar and vaginal and anal cancers. It can seem awkward or uncomfortable to bring up sex with your doctor or health care provider, but remember that is it their job to help you and give you all the options to protect your health.
